Wednesday, 4th of July 2012 The Queen Of Angels' Church has been under the risk of flooding for the past few years. With the continuous raising of the Galle Road since its construction in 1962. It has been decided that the church floor including the main hall and two wings be raised by 7 inches. In the process the windows of the main hall will be removed and replaced with doors and arches will decorate every door. Seen in the photo's the workers demolishing the existing floor.
The Sunday masses will be conducted inside the Parish Hall during this time. Seen in the photo's is the Parish Hall now setup to conduct Holy Mass.
Also seen in the Photo's are Mr. Ivan Cooray (who has been renovating and funding the coridor roof) and his son-in-law Mr. Lalish De Silva (Cheif Officer in Sri Lanka Navy) painting the roof boards.
